This program is part of a statewide initiative established to help qualified workers who have a disability obtain and maintain jobs by linking them to jobs, education and job training programs and resources in the community. SEE is available to all Department of Mental Health (DMH) clients diagnosed with a long-term illness. Referrals are made through the DMH.
Employment services include: Exploring marketable skills, deciding on a career path, setting career goals, creating resumes and writing job applications, improve job interview skills, manage SSI and SSDI benefits, improve workplace communications, and negotiate for accommodations.
Education services help adults prepare for GED testing, attain basic skills in reading, writing, math, social studies and science, identify and apply for post-secondary education, improve study skills, and explore financial aid opportunities.
SEE staff helps adults to develop and improve computer skills, typing skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills, decision-making skills, problem solving skills, and job seeking skills. |
